2 APRIL 2013 The NSW Taxi Council's WELL program has received a Highly Commended achievement award in the category of Chairman's Award at the inaugural Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council (TLISC) Awards for Excellence in Melbourne.
At a celebratory dinner, the NSW Taxi Council's award was announced and presented to Training Manager Christina Klaasse along with program partner Hunter TAFE's representative Amanda Cole.
The certificate of achievement is part of a wider award program which offers the opportunity to recognise and celebrate exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions made by organisations in training and workforce development.
The commendation acknowledges an individual, enterprise or Registered Training Organisation which has developed programs and strategies that address Language, Literacy and Numeracy issues within the Transport and Logistics industry.
The NSW Taxi Council's WELL program is the first of its kind developed specifically for the taxi industry. The NSW Taxi Council is pleased to offer this course to industry participants to improve their workplace Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills.
WELL is funded by the Commonwealth through the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education.
