Additional Sydney CBD Road Closures

31 March 2016 | NSW Taxi Council

The next phase of George Street closures to accommodate CBD Light Rail works take effect from 10pm, Friday 1 April and will continue throughout 2016.

A summary of what you need to know:

George Street to be closed between Bridge and Margaret streets.

This will affect the Jamison Street rank and kerbside arrangements on Jamison Street. There will no longer be access to/from Jamison Street on the George Street (eastern) side.

To facilitate two-way traffic movement on Jamison Street between George and York streets, the northern side of the street will be No Stopping at all times.

Starting from George Street on the southern side of Jamison Street, the kerbside has been changed to:

- 1x No Stopping (Australia Post vehicles excepted 2 min limit)

- 5x Taxi Zone spaces – directly outside the Met Centre

- 2x Loading Zone spaces

- 1x No Stopping (Buses excepted 15 min limit) - in front of the Amora Hotel

- 2x Loading Zone spaces

We thank the CBD Coordination Office for working with the NSW Taxi Industry to effectively communicate these changes and to ensure rank access at this location despite the significant challenge of ongoing CBD Light Rail works.

For all feedback on these works, especially rank access on Jamison Street, please contact the NSW Taxi Council
