The NSW Taxi Industry has one of the most advanced training systems for new taxi drivers or those wishing to enhance their careers once in the Industry.

Authorised Taxi Driver
The NSW Taxi Council is a Registered Training Organisation and offers nationally recognised training in the Sydney Metropolitan Transport District for the those wishing to become endorsed to drive a Wheelchair Accessible Taxi (WAT) or apply to Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) for Taxi Operator Accreditation.

For drivers in Wollongong, Newcastle, Gosford, Central Coast and Country Areas please contact your local taxi network. The Course in TaxiCare Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Drving outside of the Sydney Metropolitan Transport District is open learning and awards NSW Taxi Industry Qualification which is not part of the nationally recogised training system.
You are able to pre-register for a course online if you have not previously completed a course with the NSW Taxi Council. Pre-registration secures your place in a particular course, subject to your payment and finalising the registration process by attending the NSW Taxi Council offices during busines hours no later than 7 days before the start date of the course.
You will be required to present orginals (not copies) of the two forms of photographic identification used for pre-registration and complete any other parts of the registration that were not done online.
You will also need to present a Unique Student Identifier (USI) as required by the Australian Government.
