Teegan Hill - a local woman from Bathurst, is the 4 millionth customer to make a booking with Bathurst Taxis (Bx Taxis) and the winner of the $400 Cabcharge gift voucher. Ms Hill, together with her daughter Elisa were presented the voucher on Friday, 17 July 2020 by the Honourable Paul Toole MP - NSW Minister for Regional Transport and Roads & Local member for Bathurst. Also in attendance were Bobby Bourke – Mayor, Bathurst Regional Council and Paul Shanahan – Marketing Manager, Bathurst Taxis. This gift voucher provides Ms Hill with $400 worth of complimentary Taxi travel in any Taxi across NSW.
Teegan booked the Taxi at 8:38pm on Tuesday 14 July, 2020 to travel from her brother's house in Eglington to travel back to her home in Bathurst. She was picked up in Taxi TC 839 by Bx Taxis Operator/Driver Darren Burton. “It’s an absolute honour to receive this prize”, Ms Hill said, “I am saving for a car as I do not have one. I will be able to put the money I will save on Taxi Fares towards my savings for a new car”. Ms Hill uses a Taxi between five to ten times a week in Bathurst to get out and about.
On the occasion of this wonderful milestone and the announcement of the winner, Dean Shadbolt – Secretary/Manager of Bathurst Taxis said, ‘’This is a great achievement, to be able to reach 4 million bookings. This also shows that we still have great support from our customers as we are available on a week night when other rideshare services in town are not operating. It’s great to see that Teegan, a local and a regular customer has won the voucher”.
It took 15 years and 4 million passengers in Taxis providing a reliable service for this great achievement to transpire for Bathurst Taxis. They provide 24/7/365 Taxi services to the local community of 40,000 people in Bathurst. It shows how the Regional NSW Taxi Industry is helping members of their respective communities to get out and about in a safe and reliable way. Bathurst Taxis has been providing local transport services for many years prior to the entry of other providers such as rideshare. Bathurst Taxis launched this promotion a couple of weeks prior to honour this great achievement.
