Please see below the Communications received from the Point to Point Transport Commissioner regarding 'Displaying Taxi Fare Hotline Stickers' fact sheet.
The Point to Point Transport Commissioner continues to work with the taxi industry to crack down on those taxi drivers providing rank and hail services who choose not to use the meter, overcharge or refuse a trip unless the passenger agrees to a fixed fare. The Taxi Fare Hotline is an important feedback service that allows passengers to report taxi fare issues in order for them to be dealt with by the appropriate provider. As discussed with you recently, Taxi Fare Hotline stickers should be placed in all taxi vehicles across Sydney to educate passengers and provide direct access to the Hotline. All vehicles should display the stickers inside and outside the vehicle in safe, visible, and accessible locations. The Point to Point Transport Commissioner's ‘Displaying Taxi Fare Hotline Stickers’ fact sheet is now available on the Commissioner’s website. This fact sheet includes FAQs and helpful infographics to assist you to display the Hotline stickers in visible, accessible, and safe locations inside and outside of taxis.
