Point to Point Drivers including Taxi Drivers and Staff of Service Providers in Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool Local Government Areas (LGA's) will be unable to leave these areas.
Given the number of infectious cases in the community, the Premier today announced on the basis of updated health advice a number of changes will be made to further limit the spread of the COVID-19 Delta strain. These changes will have an impact on a number of Point to Point transport service providers and drivers, including Taxis.
From 11:59pm tonight, Saturday 17 July until Friday 30 July:
Residents of Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool LGAs will not be able to leave their local areas for work.
This means that Taxi, rideshare, hire car and other Point to Point transport drivers, as well as staff that work at service providers, will be unable to leave these LGAs to work.
The only people that will be exempt are emergency services and healthcare workers.
All other restrictions currently in place across Greater Sydney including the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour will remain in place. Restrictions in regional NSW remain unchanged.
Further information will be provided once the updated Public Health Order is approved and published. We will continue to update you on any other changes and understand this is a difficult time for the industry and community.
