Vivid Sydney 2022 is a 23-day festival which will take place from 27 May 2022 to 18 June 2022.
The event, now in its 12th year, is owned, managed and produced by Destination NSW, the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency.
Each year Vivid Sydney transforms the city into a vibrant fusion of creativity, innovation and technology and is a major celebration of our creative industries.
The 2022 festival will deliver mesmerising art displays, 3D-light projections, exhilarating live music performances and deep-dive discussions from the world’s brightest minds.
The 2022 festival features more than 200 installations and events at dozens of venues and open spaces across Sydney’s CBD.
Vivid Sydney 2022 will activate and energise Circular Quay, Sydney’s CBD, The Rocks, Walsh Bay, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, Darling Quarter, Darling Square, Taronga Zoo and Luna Park.

Taxi Security Commissionaires will be operating throughout Vivid Sydney 2022 across various days and levels of operation on the following Taxi Ranks

Governance Co-ordination Center
A representative from the NSW Taxi Council will be working in the Governance Co-ordination Center (Police Operation Centre) during VIVID Sydney 2022 on all Friday and Saturday nights as well as the Sunday night of the long weekend.
Road Closures
For the safety of pedestrians, key roads will be closed in the Sydney CBD, Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Haymarket, The Rocks and Walsh Bay and parking restrictions will be in effect.
Roads will start closing from 5pm each night of the festival with additional closures on Fridays and weekends. All roads will reopen by 1am each night.

Hickson Road at Pier One hotel– available on Level 1-2 nights
George St (near Lower Fort St) – available Monday to Thursday nights. This location may be an option for drop off on the higher level nights, however please note that patrons would need to travel past the Rocks Markets on the footpath.
Loftus St (near Alfred St) – available Monday to Thursday nights only
Circular Quay East (cnr Alfred St & Phillip St) – available Monday to Thursday nights only
Phillip Street south of Albert Street on Level 2/3 nights.
Sydney Opera House - security gatehouse at the end of Macquarie St – available on all nights
