Please note, all the Taxi Drivers whose ID cards are expired/expiring soon and intend to continue driving Taxis in NSW with our member Networks, have to complete the 3 step process for renewing their NSW Taxi Council ID card.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO RENEW YOUR TAXI DRIVER ID CARD?
- All NSW Taxi Council Driver ID cards have a 3 year expiry
- NSW Taxi Council Member Networks (Taxi Service Providers) Safety Management System requires Taxi Driver ID cards to be renewed every 3 years
- To undertake an updated Criminal History Check to ensure no disqualifying offences
- Update your Contact Details
- Receive a brand new updated Driver ID card with a new photo
- Attend a short refresher training session (completed online via your smartphone or computer) on the latest regulations regarding the industry
WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR YOUR RENEWAL APPLICATION?
You will need 4 basic forms of identification for renewal & crime check
Most Applicants use:
1. A bright photo with head and shoulders appearing (It cannot be blurry or a photo of another photo)
2. NSW Drivers Licence
3. Passport OR Australian Citizenship Certificate OR Australian Birth Certificate
4. Medicare Card or
5. Debit/Credit card
Any applicant who is not an Australian Citizen, will also require a VEVO check for Right to Work.

You will require 1 x ID from Commencement of ID from the following examples
Examples:

Full Australian birth certificate (not an extract or birth card)

Current Australian passport (not expired)

Australian visa current at time of entry to Australia as a resident or tourist

ImmiCard issued by Immigration and Border Protection

Certificate of identity issued by Foreign Affairs and Trade to refugees and non-Australian citizens for entry to Australia

Document of identity issued by Foreign Affairs and Trade to Australian (eg. VEVO) citizens or persons who

Have the nationality of a Commonwealth country for travel purposes

Certificate of evidence of resident status.

You will require 1 x ID from Primary Use in Community from the following examples
Examples:

Current Australian drivers license, learner permit or provisional license issued by a state or territory, showing a signature and/or photo and the same name as claimed

Australian marriage certificate issued by a state or territory (church or celebrant-issued certificates are not accepted)

Current passport issued by a country other than Australia with a valid entry stamp or visa
-
Current proof of age or photo identity card issued by an Australian Government agency in the name of the

Applicant, with a signature and photo

Current shooters or firearms license showing a signature and photo (not minor or junior permit or license)

For persons under 18 years of age with no other Primary Use in Community Documents, a current student

Identification card with a signature or photo.

You will require 1 x ID from Secondary Use In Community Documents from the following examples

The charges for your renewal are $130. This covers your Application, Verification, Online Refresher Training, Crime check and a new Taxi Driver ID Card.
You can make the payment online using a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card during the application process. You cannot pay by cash, personal or bank cheques.
